Sensei Jose Rodriguez Sr. - Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt) - Chief Instructor
Sensei Rodriguez began training in Kenkojuku Shotokan Karate in 1971 under the late Sensei Robert Halliburton in Fresno, CA. Several years later while still training under Halliburton, he began teaching in the Fresno area while also competing in numerous tournaments, earning several 1st place finishes. After relocating to the midwest, Rodriguez began studying Tae Kwon Do in addition to Shotokan, and received his Tae Kwon Do black belt in 1977. In the 1980s he began teaching Tae Kwon Do with Raul Meza, head of "Active Class" and Meza Tae Kwon do while also competing in ATA Tae Kwon Do tournaments in the area, earning multiple honors in forms and sparring. Rodriguez came to Idaho in 2001 after retiring from the Federal Aviation Administration, and has focused his training on Shotokan Karate with his son, Jose Rodriguez II, since that time. In 2010 he became a member of Shotokan Karate-do Internation Federation (SKIF) and after attending and training at various SKI seminars and workshops, Rodriguez was recently promoted by Hirokazu Kanazawa, Kancho (10th dan), founder and President of SKIF.
Senpai Jose Rodriguez II - Nidan
Senpai Rodriguez began his training at a young age under his father, Rodriguez Sr. and Sensei Halliburton in Fresno, CA. Receiving his first promotion in 1990, he has been training and studying the art of Shotokan Karate ever since. As a new active member of Shotokan Karate-do International Federation (SKIF), Rodriguez II has travelled to several national-level workshops and was also recently promoted by SKIF founder Hirokazu Kanazawa, Kancho in July of 2013.
